Hello, and welcome to the very first blog post on the Jeannie Consulting website! Iโm Jeanene Williams, and I am thrilled to introduce you to our new consulting firm dedicated to fostering LGBTIQA+SB inclusivity within organizations. This first post is a mix of my personal journey and the vision we have for Jeannie Consulting.
A Personal Journey
My journey towards becoming an advocate for LGBTIQA+SB rights and inclusivity has been deeply personal and transformative. Growing up, I often felt like I didn’t fit into the conventional molds society had set. As I navigated through life, dealing with my own struggles and the societal stigmas associated with being a transgender woman, I realized the immense importance of creating spaces where everyone can feel accepted and valued.
In my professional life, I have spent over 30 years in senior and executive management roles, always striving to make a difference. My roles have ranged from being the Principal Project Manager LGBTIQA+SB at the WA Mental Health Commission to serving as Co-Chair of the WA Health State-wide LGBTIQA+SB Action Group and the Australian Computer Society’s National Diversity and Inclusion Council. These experiences have been pivotal in shaping my understanding and approach to diversity and inclusion.
The Birth of Jeannie Consulting
With Jeannie Consulting, I aim to leverage my extensive experience to help organizations create truly diverse and accepting workplaces. Our mission is to go beyond ticking boxes and foster environments where everyone can participate, grow, be accepted, and thrive. We specialize in working with industries such as State and Local Government, Health and Mental Health, and IT and Software Development, but our services are applicable to all sectors.
